Hi guys, my easy brackets have arrived from the US so i am going to fit them this weekend but i have noticed that the triumph original bolts that go into the bike are TORX type.

I am going to need to buy a torx key as I only have small keys... I need to buy the individual key.

Does anyone know what size the torx key needed is to remove the origional bolts that hold the rack in place?

My bike is 2016 R3R.

Cheers guys.

There are a couple of them in the tool kit under your seat, you might get lucky and the one you need could be in there. If the seat removal s the same as a 09 model, insert key near the back of the right side cover and pull the tab on the back left side of seat and it pops right off.

They are different sizes. I can't locate my original bolts at the moment, but i believe they are 45 and 55.

When I asked, I was advised the oil drain plugs are Torx as well and to buy a full set. So for $20.00 i got these...

I just checked, one is T40 the other is T45.
And there isn't any torx keys in the tool kit, just Allen keys.

Are you mounting hard or soft bags?
PS: you might want to add your model and year motor under your avatar?

Torx bits ordered from ebay, a small set for £10...that will do for me.
Hi 1olbull... they are soft bags...hepco & becker so they are solid where they need to be for mounting the brackets....no internal plates needed.
Unfortunately the Hepco brackets are not available until they make another production run, I have tried to get them from various countries but no joy.
cheers.

Nice bags!
No need for brackets if you go with the Easy Brackets!
And when you remove the bags - all is clean as original!

I have a set of HB brackets that I'm not using, but I suspect that shipping to the UK could be a bit spendy.
