Dynojet PC5

I can confirm Hellfire's comments. Apparently "Dynajet" were going to send a PC3 as the PC5 is not yet ready, & the only difference is that the PC3 will not accept the bolt on extras such as "autotune". Don't know when the PC5 will be available if ever. Dyno run tomorrow just see what were working with & if a PC is needed anyway.

I sent an email earlier this summer to an engineer at Dynojet and they said the PC5 was on hold for the Rocket, with no release date set. It did not sound promising. I think we should send another round of emails to remind them.....

The tune up guy that I used has been on the phone to them, whether or not it gees them up I doubt. Anyway I had the beast on the dyno today, what fun getting it on, he hasn't had anything so big before so he was understandably a bit worried, however with 5 bodies helping it went up & on without incident. It was worth my £30 just for the fun of it, 1st time I've been able to hear it at anything around the power band & oh! what a delight it was, with the cat removed & TOR's pipes it is musical & hits many more notes than all those plebs on these daft talent shows. The power hits you in the chest & even the dyno guy couldn't believe the torque delivery, reckons his best yet was a "Busa" & that paled into insignificance in comparison, 145ft/lbs at 3700rpm with 135bhp at 6000rpm. The AFR is somewhat over the place but he reckons that with an engine this big it's not worth changing, especially bringing it to 13.5% would give crap economy so he doesn't believe that a PC3 is worthwhile unless I do something massively different & that just aint gonna happen. - video'd it if anybody wants it need to tell me how to upload it. All in all I'm a very happy captain.:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Will Email them "Pig" but doubt it will have any effect but I think the V version is worth waiting for if only for the autotune plug in which I assume will help even out my inconsistencies in air/fuel mixture. Can an auto tune unit be fitted in combination with a PC3, not as a plug in but a standalone unit?

I picked up my bike after the 20K tuneup after about 3 years and it really runs great. There was a guy there with a classic, fitted with jardines and a PCIII, which my dealer, who is the bomb at tuning, tuned. The guy said 157 hp. Unless you are going to mod the engine, you should be able to do really well with a PCIII and a good tuner.

Emailed Dyno jet about PCV here's the answer as of today 17Nov.10

I have no idea when this unit will be available. If it were up to me, 2009 Rocket III owners would not even know that there are plans to build a PC5 for the bike at this point. We are testing prototypes. We hope to have something available for it within the year.

Hope this clarifies it.

The power commander web site doesn't give the PCIII as an option for 2009 or 2010 Rockets - it lists the PC V "under development".

So is it really true that the PC III's are incompatible with 2009 and 2010 models? Has anyone used one?

The PCIII works great and it fits 2009 and older. DynoJet is saying that the 2010-2011 will require the PCV, but I don't see why ... They have yet to give a good reason. And since they don't have a working PCV for the R3 yet anyway .....

It's true that it doesn't do anything for the timing, but a GiPro fixes that.
Triple filters, exhaust, removing the secondaries, a GiPro, PCIII and a good dyno tune from a qualified DynoJet dealer will net you just as much if not more power than TuneBoy or TuneECU. They require less tinkering and don't screw with the bike's ECU or alter the Triumph software. Simply removing the unit restores the bike to stock settings, and there are alot more shops dealing with Power Commander than altering the ECU software. You just bolt on the goodies, have it dyno-tuned ... and Presto! Easy peezy.

They all work, you just have to decide how deep you want to wade in to the water.

Here's your answer Doug
