Dynojet PC5

 ....... It's because we're black isn't it ..... No wait, that's another movie.

I guess they have their priorities based on market share.

Dynojet/Power Commander is working feverishly on the autotune feature for the PCV. Its release has been backed up for over a year, and so far there is no light at the end of the tunnel. This and the fact that there have been many new models released this year from other manufacturers with higher sales than the R3, means that the PCV for the 2009 and later R3 is not a priority.

Mine going on the dyno on Tuesday, PCV ordered by tune up guy having got info from the PC catologue which stipulates the PCV for the R3. I'll pass this onto them see what happens. -- Just phoned him & the order was taken without question, he says that they are normally very good at identifying problems at the time of order & yes they know what bike it's for. He's going to check it on Monday

I don't have a PC5,
but the DoBeck unit is on the fly adjustable and smaller
than the PC3 with no cd or canned tune to mess with.
Real simple to operate, its plug an play and comes ready to rocknroll.
Order one for a rocketIII, plug it into the throttlebodies and try it out.
It's about the same size as a creditcard. A little thicker, but about the same size.
The guy that invented the PowerCommander and sold it to DynoJet, is DoBeck.
He knows their unit pretty good and has a superior unit for sale at about 1/2 the cost.
Significant discount for veterans too.
At least I like it, and I'm having WAY better luck with it than the PC3.

Do you have the Dobeck? How does it work? Does anyone else out there use it?

I personally wouldn't put one on my bike. I have the Tuneboy with tunedit. They cater to Hardleys because of the volume. Its is plugged inline with your ecu to the TB's and overrides it by adding or subtracting from the time the injectors are open. So now they are almost ready to offer the ability to work with the air changes.
Get a Tuneboy and work directly with your ecu not altering its impulses in line.
Not familiar with the next to free ECU tuning available, but anything would be better than the pc. I had one for my bonnie and gave it away. Been using Tuneboy eversice. Lots of features and makes the changes (including ign timing) the right way.
Good luck.

The PCIII works great and it fits 2009 and older. DynoJet is saying that the 2010-2011 will require the PCV, but I don't see why ... They have yet to give a good reason. And since they don't have a working PCV for the R3 yet anyway .....

It's true that it doesn't do anything for the timing, but a GiPro fixes that.
Triple filters, exhaust, removing the secondaries, a GiPro, PCIII and a good dyno tune from a qualified DynoJet dealer will net you just as much if not more power than TuneBoy or TuneECU. They require less tinkering and don't screw with the bike's ECU or alter the Triumph software. Simply removing the unit restores the bike to stock settings, and there are alot more shops dealing with Power Commander than altering the ECU software. You just bolt on the goodies, have it dyno-tuned ... and Presto! Easy peezy.

They all work, you just have to decide how deep you want to wade in to the water.
