Dyno Price Holy Crap

So got my Rocket the way I like it except for the decel popping and banging out of the 3 into 1 pipe, went to a Dyno shop asked about having it remapped and dynoed etc etc thinking yeah maybe $300 or so....... nooooo near had a heart attack when quoted $599 for remap and tune up.

Not sure if he was having a lend of me but shiat I didn't want to buy the laptop or nothing, it doesn't need plugs or valve clearances done as they were done only 10,000 klms ago, all I want is a computer plugged in on a Dyno and a remap...... is this the general price for Australia??

If you want it mapped correctly at a lot of throttle positions and at a lot of rev points, then it's going to take time, and time means money.

There are 3 options, and you can pick a maximum of 2 of them. High quality, low price, quick. Your choice.

btw, before you go in, make sure your throttles are balanced, air filters are clean, fuel filter is clear, you have a full tank of the petrol that you normally use, and everything else is good.

Its about $300 USD pretty much everywhere in the states. I'm not familiar with the exchange in your country....but that should give you an idea if you know the exchange rate.

Cool thought he was having a lend of me, I suppose it only has to be done the once and he said something about he locks it so it can't be tampered with by other mechanics....... I am still learning about EFI bikes I done my mechanics on Honda 4s and Kwaka 9s, gave it away when the first FZR came out with all the fairings my hands were too big. ok will have to save the pennies I suppose!

Not sure how he locks it, but if he does then that would mean that you will always be tied to him, even if he is no longer available.

If someone told me that I would run a mile, when you do get it dyno'dtake a thumb drive with you and get him to load it on to the drive also.

I agree with this. There is no d@mn way some tuner is going to be permitted to lock the ecu on my ride. Or any other part for that matter. You may make a change, need a new tune and he is no longer available.
