Ok, first off I want to apologize for asking what may appear to be really dumb questions.I find all the talk on this forum about tuning using different systems to be mind boggling.
I am slowly learning by doing a lot of reading here but I have a couple of things that I need to know.I looked and did not find an answer.
What are TORS ? is this some kind of exhaust system you can go out and buy? there was no mention of it in Google.
ECU I am assuming is Electronic Control Unit ?
CATS is the the catalytic converter? where is this on a Rocket?
Thanks for answering my dumb questions!
I,m sure there will be more to come!

The TORS is Triumphs "off road" pipes which are louder than stock. The cat is in front of the rear wheel on the standard Rocket and I believe is in the exhaust of the touring and roadster.

Snuffy is right, different year, model have different catalyst locations. But everyone still loves to call it a catbox. I know I do. :p

ECU, ECM, Brainbox ... they all mean the Electronic Control Unit/Module.

questions

Thanks for the answers. It is much appreciated.
So to remove the CAT from a R3 touring bike, you would need to separate the header from the mufflers and pull the Cats out?
Then do a 12 minute tune to compensate?
Will this improve power and sound?
Will the TORS fit on a R3Touring? Is this an optional exhaust that can be ordered for a new R3Touring?
I don,t believe that most motorcycles have Cats, are they required for emission controls?
I know cars need catalytic converters to pass emissions but not bikes, unless maybe in California.
Sorry for all the questions but I feel like a sponge that needs to be filled with knowledge about these bikes!

What year are we talking about?
TOR's on a standard or Classic look just like the stock triple pipes, but require a cat delete crossover pipe to replace the big catbox under the bike just behind the starter. The Touring bikes have dual pipes and I'm not familiar with what's under the bike. If it's the Triumph Off Road pipes you are interested in, the Triumph website should have a list of the additional required parts to fit them.

The standard and classic bikes are much different than touring, you will have to be specific when asking about them. All vary somewhat in year as well. I'm certain if you give specifics, someone with the answer will be along eventually.

For the Touring (dual pipes, single headlight) you can get TORs which do not have cats in them like the stock mufflers. They look like the stock mufflers. You can also get D&D or Staintune slip ons. Neither of them have cats. All these still leave the collector box under the bike in place. It looks like the cat on a standard but is empty. I think Staintume makes a replacement cross over pipe. Jardine makes a complete system for the R3T. Jardine system and K&N's with a good tune will get about 140 horses.
