DS Tire Listing

Since there is a lot of information on various tires but no central tire listing I thought we might get this thread pinned at the top of the forum.

I pulled a list based on the tires I have seen listed here from a common source (Amazon) and noted them below.

I pulled only directional tires and with tread ratings in the 300 range.

I did leave the most popular one Riken Raptor out due to, at least for me, it's lack of availability.

I will add to this list as we go. It would be nice to have you guys list your experience with these tires.

BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2 Radial Tire - 225/50R16 92Z SL

Nitto NT450 Extreme All-Season Tire - 225/55R16 94V

Dunlop Direzza DZ101 High Performance Tire - 225/55R16 95VR

Toyo Extensa HP Performance Radial Tire - 225/55R16 94V

Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval INDY 500 Radial Tire - 225/55R16 95W

The idea seems sound I know - BUT it's always just better to look and see what's being manufactured when you need one.
This sort of thread has been tried before - it soon dies.

For ages the de-facto option was a Goodyear. Goodyear ceased making them.
I was for example looking at a Uniroyal - replaced with new model (asymmetrical).
Same with a D/S front tyre from Avon.

Also not all tyres are available in all markets.

No database is ever any use unless the data is current and actualised.
Just adding is no use - you have to delete.

When the time comes to replace I shall go to my tyre guy and say

"Victor (for that is his name) - I need a 225/55ZR(W) 16 - symmetrical tread. What's out there? - and more to the point - what can you get FAST?"

If I wanted to wait 3 weeks for a tyre - I'd buy a ruddy Metzler/Avon.
