Dropping your Rocket?

Dropped the big fat ***** of a thing on half a dozen occasions... prick of a job getting it back up on your own. Always seems to be a crowd around when it happens .... and they stand there just looking. A few encouraging words usually results in assistance... like .. " hey dickhead how about giving me a hand here " :p

When you live in an area that is full of gravel parking lots, gravel driveways and fine gravel on the black top parking lots. I learned that putting your foot down does not always mean that it will stay. I have had it happen serval times even one time were my foot slid and I did not drop the bike but sprained my ankle.

Once after doing some work on the bike and moving it not realising I had lifted the side stand, once it started to go over....well, down it went, luckily I was in my garage and no-one saw it. Mostly for the stupidity and embarrassment side of it. Angrily I lifted it suprisingly easily, hopefully the first and last. I know the slight paint damage but to pick it you would have to be really good. Never told the wife, that would be an even more stupid thing to do!

never droped mine
if u believe that i got some land in FLORDA for sell right next door to scot in exile since he is rocket poor in his neigbor hood :D:D:D:D:D

I have experience in this area. Dropped 1st Rocket in my 1st riding safety course on base. Had the instructor get it back up. lol. Hell he was bigger than I was and I let him. 2 times on soft sand. Got it up myself. Once on a brain fart corner I dropped it off of the road after I missed the corner too hot. Engine enhancement bars and Leatherlyke bags be berry berry good for to me.

i dropped mine, or it dropped itself

last year, the middle of june, or a year ago, i pulled my rocket out of my shop to go for a ride. i parked it on a very slight downgrade and that was my mistake. while i walked back to the shop to get my helmet, gloves and glasses and lock the shop up, it rolled off the side stand. it fell completely flat on its side so i tried the harley method. squat next to the bike, use one hand on the handgrip and the other hand between the rear tire and fender and use the thigh muscles to lift it. i got it up to the 45 degrees where it was resting on the crash bar. i stood back about 10 feet away after being unable to lift it upright. after a few minutes of studying it, i got sorta pissed off and said, hell i can do this. went back to the bike, gave it the biggest tug i could manage, and broke my back. a call to a couple of friends and they got it back in the shop for me. after the x rays and cat scan, sure 'nuff i broke the hell out of L-4. it's still sore, but i've been riding some. honestly after getting off my 08 r3 classic and getting on my 08 streetglide, my streetglide feels like a lot smaller bike. our rockets are heavy beasts, and top heavy to me anyway.

My driveway is steep as all hell and I park it there every night when I open the carport but I always put it in gear . She has never moved and I mean this drive way almost has the headlights pointing at the sky
