The Tail is a lot of fun on a Rocket. The first time on a Rocket I overheated my front brakes. Not enough shifting and too hard on corners. The Dragon's Tail is a rush.

I too have ridden the Tail quite a few times, on my Rocket and my R1200RT BMW. It is one of the most exhilarating rides I’ve ever done. The Tail of the Dragon is listed as one of the top 10 most dangerous roads in the world, also on this list is the Moki Dugway in Utah and Red Mountain Pass in Colorado both of which I have ridden. Another really good ride is the road going to Fort Bragg in California.

Dam auto correct, R1200RT not r100rt and ridden not risen.

I had an R1200RT before the Rocket. I've ridden The Dragon on the RT, the Rocket, and '98 Thunderbird Sport. It's a great road, but there are many just as good not so far away that are less famous, with less yahoos and speed "concerns."

Thinking about riding to Marion to ride the dragon's back then slipping down to ride the tail. Anyone here ever ride tail?

Just recently, actually. Fun, but to me it was just a one-time thing.
