Dont forget the walk around

Felt lucky yesterday (18th). Planned a trip on the rocket to HOT SPRINGS NC for a little B&B and ride on the 209. Stopped just outside of Ashville at the rest stop and did a walk around while waiting on the wife. Back tire looked real shiny :!: Had a major oil leak that covered the underside, and half the rear tire. Couldn't tell where it was coming from so decided to head back, thoughts of twisties and oil slick back scares me. Got the Tundra and rescued the day. TOday the oil seamed to come from the drain plug. Dropped it all out and could only find some small imperfections in the aluminum crush washer, O ring looked OK. Guess what , no Oring to be found along with the washer at the dealer. Filed the washer smooth and put it back together. Added another $40 worth of oil and we'll see.

Can't believe you dealer didn't have the O ring for the drain plug... They should be replaced every oil change according to Triumph if I am not mistaken.. Tells you something about their service philosophy.. Be careful of that dealer with any major work...

It's not the drain plug that supposed to be replaced with each change... it's the crush washer. And I don't remember an O-ring...
