Only had my 2004 for a couple of weeks, spent yesterday afternoon in the main street of Cooma (felt like minus 20 but I'm sure it wasn't) with the alarm going off refusing to disarm.
To make it worse, all my Harley mates had ridden up from the coast to meet me and check out the new bike, then ride down again...9 of the bastards, all discussing how pleased I must be to be selling my Harley for the Triumph...
To cut a long story short after doing everything, pulling fuses, disconnecting battery etc etc it suddenly started. Managed to ride it back to the Bermagui pub (three hours) and then the bastard did it again at the pub. In fact, out the front of the pub, with even more onlookers offering helpful comments from the sidelines fueled by coppius amounts of beer. So the other bastards (my mates, remember) helped me push it onto a trailer, where it remains sitting in my shed.
I think its a factort fitted alarm. Anyone heard of this problem before? I can tow it four hours to a dealer in Nowra or try a local auto-electrician. Leaning towarads the dealer...
Anyway, it still beat the Harleys home.

I sure wouldn't go to Cooma this time of the year unless I had too. It was -8 there a couple of days ago. Unless you really feel you need the alarm I'd just disable it. These bikes have a built in anti-theft system anyway - they weigh 800lbs and scare the sh1t out of most people. :D

Next time you're Cooma way (or Canberra of course) let me know and I'll meet you.

Wish you were there yesterday when I was surrounded by 9 Harley riding hecklers!

I've got it booked in tomorrow at the dealers in Nowra, I'll keep you posted. If its going to cost big dollars I'll get him to disconnect it.
