As many of you know i bought a 2002 GSXR 1000 WITH 180 miles a few months back, everything good until i had to do a title adjustment.
I went to the dmv and added my wife to the title, everything we own is in both of our names in a way that she can sell stuff without the need of lawyers if i die.
When i bought the bike the title said 180 miles, the new title says 4820 miles
I asked the lady about it, she said since the bike is over 10 years old the original miles don't apply anymore and is considered a used bike and the computer generates random number and attaches it to the title
Now i have a new old bike with over 4k miles!!!!
That is scandalous ! Do they make the rules up over coffee breaks ?
Would that also apply if the bike was vintage ? If you had not altered the title and had sold the bike yesterday , would that adjustment have landed on the new owner ?
If so , There gotta be a moral in there somewhere ?
Oklahoma is weird, a few years back i traded an 06 yamaha 1100 for a fourwheeler, i was waiting for the title so the guy told me to just sen the title when i got it, the bike had 6k miles, i knew the original owner and knew the bike since new, when the title arrived the title read 87,000 miles!!, the new owner didnt wanted to mess with it and just left it alone, so i have seen it before
Ian, this is a dealer certified bike, i got all the original paprework and proof that everything was legit, the original owner bought the bike and took it home, he died 2 weeks later of cancer, his mother keept the bike in the garage as sentimental value for 15 years, finally she took it to the dealer and put it on consignment, i asked for proof of everything so this is legit, i was going to use it as a show bike until Kevin dropped it in the driveway
