I have mounted D&D exhaust and want to use tuneboy an - if possible - pod air filters.

Have some questions:

I read the post from dugl. I`m living in germany. So I can forget the pod air filter?
http://www.r3owners.net/showthread.php?t=595

Has somebody a tuning-file for D&D?

D&D is forbidden in germany so I changed sometimes exhaust if I make a long trip because of the police. Then I have Original standard pipes with cat eliminator mounted. What file is here recommend if there is mounted the pod air filters?

Thank you

Hi Jim. With the pod filters and D&D exhaust I would use the 20050_3 tune from tuneboy.

If you notice backfiring or popping on deceleration try this tune http://www.r3owners.net/showthread.php?t=284&page=2
It is the 20050_3 tune with a little extra fuel added to stop the popping on decel. Instead of the pod filters I have triple K&Ns and it seems to run just fine.

With the stock exhaust and cat eliminator and pod filters I would probably keep the same tune (20050_3). But you also might want to try some of the other tunes Dougl posted like the 20050FinalDynoMap TOR Bypass Decel. With differences in gas and altitude between countries some of the other tunes might work better.

Does your bike currently have the German tune which is limited to 72 KW?

Someone from Australia had his pod filters catch fire after a backfire - major mess. You can get the pod filters from Tuneboy. You might also consider individual K&N RU-2780 filters like Pig9r used.

Do you think you have more hp with this filters? I think you get more air with this filters but the air near the engine is hotter than the air under the seat.

The triple K&N's probably flow more than stock, I'm not sure about more than the K&N undertank mod or the pods. The pods have to be compressed somewhat to get them to fit under the bearclaw cover so I don't know how that effects their flow either.

I don't think engine heat is much of an issue once you are moving. Even with the stock setup the intake gets heat soaked so I don't think it matters much either way.

Like DougL said, the pod filters caught fire on one Rocket owner's bike when it backfired out of the intake. That was the main reason I went with the K&N's.
