....Didn't know we got off topic. I've laid mine down in a parking lot. You don't know how heavy it is until you 'try' to pick it back up.

Lubricating oil don't play a big part in controlling engine temperatures in the R3 engine because the engine has no auxillary oil cooler, unlike say, the Bonnie, which is actually air/oil cooled.

Triumph does specify a JASO-MA specification motor oil and calls out their proprietary brand, Mobil 4T Racing, full synthetic but people are using everything from Amzoil to 7th Gear. So long as the oil carries the JASO-MA rating, all is good.

The coolant is paramount because the engine is wet linered, that is, coolant flows around the actual cylinder versus flowing through coolant passages cast internally in a engine block. That allows the engine to transfer the heat of combustion more efficiently to the coolant, one reason the R3 engine gets to operating temperature quicker.

Have to make sure you drink quick once you pop the top off a fresh cold one.

It evaporates:eek:

Thats my excuse and I am sticking to it.
Good one, and I'll likely use that excuse myself:D

That has its own problems here, we on the edge of a desert and most bushes come up to about knee level. I will save the drinking for home where the amenities are a little more private.

Dont drink and drive (ride) you might spill some:p
So youre a Conservative are you:D

A water wetter product is your best route. I use a Red Line product.
I strongly support Amsoil 15w50. It has been "good to me".
