Boog JM2C's .. you should look into the Gerbing heated jacket and gloves and some L.L.Bean long johns. i used to ride in cold weather a lot,i remember putting on the heated gloves and jacket and thinking what took me so long to convert.

They are the only company I know of that make them but could easily be copied by any leather man. The fitting was tough only becasue of tight fitment around the down tubes.

I guess I got the last Hippo Hands and am very happy to have made it under the wire. We can meet up someday some and you can see them first hand. Looks like tuesday will be snowy though.

Triiick, I ride with Tourmaster Heated gear, but when the wind chill is -30 or colder, they aren't quite enough to keep my hands comfy. Under it all I still have some of my left over S.P.E.A.R. gear which works very well. Thanks for the info though.

I have them on my BMW/side car rig I ride in the winter, they are great. If I had the money I would have bought the rights and patterns, but I would have had to put up a building, too. By the time I got around to getting some for the Rocket, he was done.

For Christmas, I recieved Hippo Hands and Engine Guard Chaps. They are now on the bike and seem to be a bonus. I rode to work this last week in 22F degree weather with no hint of cold hands and the small amount of wind block from the chaps is noticable.

The guards are super easy to install in the dark but do the chap install when you have light...

Hippo hands...an interesting item. Fortunately, I don't ride in those kind of temperatures or I might be looking for a solution like that. As for the Engine Guard Chaps, I have a pair just like them. I agree, they only provide a small amount of protection from the wind and I am a little disappointed in them. I suspect it is because the engine guards don't stick out that far from the bike. I actually thought the massive engine would provide more warmth in cold weather than it does. Heated gear is the way to go for cold weather riding and the Corbin fairing I have, in spite of some of my complaints, does provide good protection around the hands.

I ride with a friend who has the Hippo Hands and have ridden her bike while using them.
They do work extremely well; however, my concern was that they are stiff and bulky, presenting a problem storing on the bike when not in use.
My friend just leaves them mounted on the bike always, even through the summer months, which is NOT for me.

They will come off when the temperature climbs back up. The instructions states they need to be laid flat and even recomends to keep them in the box they came in when not inuse.
I leave them on the bike for now and they fit under my Dowco cover with no worries.
