During the summer of 2015 I will have the opportunity to take 2 months of the summer to do a trip. The idea would be to ride east from Alberta Canada to the east coast of Canada. Head south to the states and then make my way to the west coast (LA). Finish along the California and Oregon coast back to Canada.

I was just curious, if you were to do the trip again, is there something you would do to your Rocket to make the trip more comfortable or enjoyable or was your setup good enough?

Then this is your dream trip: USA Four Corners Tour - SCMA

I hope to do it someday.

I rode my 2012 R3R with stock seat, bars and pegs. I'm a stiff and sore old turd and managed to ride every day except four (two for a rally in Nevada and two waiting for rain in Maggie Valley). Averaged over 300 mile per day over 6 weeks. Do not miss the dragon and the Cher a hula :D and Georgia and Arkansas and Colorado and . . .
heh heh heh

6 weeks, did you find yourself rushed or was that plenty of time? I know what you mean about what not to miss. I found a site that lists the top 100 motorcycle roads in the United States as voted on by riders. I took a weekend and plotted each on a map and then stood back to see how I could join the dots to get in as many of these routs as possible. I think 8 weeks may not be quite enough
On your trip did you use hotels, camp or a mix?
Cheers

I never felt rushed and had actually planned a seventh week which I didn't need.
Spent 5 days riding around CO, 5 days around AR, 5 days TN & SC, Outer Banks up east coast, 2 days VA, DC & The Wall, back to Maggie Valley for 2 days and then worked west to Sturgis, SD and home. Weather in the east kept me from doing more of GA and Key West, FL where I would have used up that 7th week.
It was a GREAT trip - I absolutely loved the folks of the south and shall be back some days soon! I will say that my personal bias is the almighty twistie and I searched out as many as possible. Rode the Dragon 6 times and would have done more except for the dicey weather.
I have done CA for 50 years so 86'd it. You should absolutely do it and use your 8 weeks if possible. If you get to NW shout out.

Acknowleged and thanks 1olbull, Your not far from me as it is. I have a friend in Chilliwack BC, just north of you 170 mi or so that I ride with when I can.

No sorry, Mike Masan. He just picked up a Triumph Trophy

That would have been a heck of a coincidence.
Hein rides with a lot of bikes out of Chilliwack. I think he's on a Nomad currently.
A real stand up fellow if you ever run into him.
Have fun and enjoy planning your big ride.

I just checked with my buddy in Chilliwack to see if they have crossed paths but no luck. You never know we all may meet someday. Cheers and safe riding....when the snow leaves. Thanks again for the input.

My pleasure.
If you need any further help or ideas, just yank my chain,
