True. But would the exhaust be made by a professional who has experience in building 240-280 HP (working on 340hp) all motor rockets? The tune is custom to my bike as well...since usually the exhaust is sold with the rest of the engine package this Guy sells, he had flashed the pc3 for the throttle plate removal. You dont pay for the metal, you pay for the research.

Its easy to go to some drag bike shop and have them weld you some pipes that fit correctly and What not. But Bob carpenter has built bikes that dip into the 6s on the quarter...with cnc milling machines and an amazing reputation that precedes him....I'd rather pay for pipes that give me the bang for my Buck and stand out from predators, jardines, and d and ds...
 
You might want to check again on how much it costs to get custom headers and pipes fabricated, let alond, made for performance for your bike. The price sounds good to me.
Just curious how much more heat they put out without a heat shield. Not at 150MPH.lol I'm talking at normal speeds in traffic.
 
My total cost over buying the exhaust is a pack of beer from my friend who welds, and the minimal cost it takes to black ceramic coat the end pipe and heat wrap the headers.

These days at 60 degrees at night the exhaust heat is unnoticeable...

In traffic? fagedaboudit :) it's like my leg is on fire!!!! -- have to get the pipes coated!
 
Travel Guys Preds are equal length headers, Carpenters are not.........research costs on none equal headers = nothing as they do not flow equally.........

I own a set of Sam’s wonderful predators and can say the quality is great but IceFire let me let you in on a visual measureable fact. Not a one of the header pipes on the predator pipe is of equal length. so all research being the same I would find someone else to do your research you might get things a little closer to right.

Reaper948 do not worry you just have something new and well this leads to some people who think they know it all and post needless comments. Every site has them and they are like gnats when the weather changes they will go away. I for one am curious as to how much power you make with these new pipes.
They sure look great on your bike even though they are not coated yet.

Thanks for the support! I'm not going to get defensive but if you could look through the facts with me I would appreciate it. I traveled around 1.5 hours to carpenter racing to go and check bobs shop out. In the shop there were 2 rocket heads from Australia that were getting work done for the 280hp kit as well as a rocket bike gutted getting work done. Meanwhile there were around 15-20 hayabusas and ZX 14s that were all getting work done. Bob was cool enough to show me a hayabusa head that was getting cnc milled and countless photos of customers bikes on the drag strips with their times in the 6-8 second range. They had a dyno in the shop as well. I think I Can trust the place and with the power commander flashed by Bob I was spending around the same amount of money for the jardine system I was going to grab and debaffle. I work in the aftermarket parts business and have been to many performance shops both legitimate and shady. I think I can make an informed decision of how good a product is from a manufacturer. IMHO don't think I was had. I'm seeing 140 a lot more often than I did before. What an incredible difference in power. And didn't I read that the predators are at around 1300 bucks? I think I made out well.
 
No Problem Reaper, I did not take the time to count all the bikes but you are definetly in their on the count as there had to be a lot of bike sitting around and on top of the built in car dyno Bob also has it was to the right of the cycle dyno. The predators are about 1800 plus shipping I have a set on the bike now that I will be taking off for a set from Bob. Sam is looking into doing me a 1 off tripple set of predators 2.0 pipes hell I will even buy both for the hell of it ( to see the power difference when I add the tripple pipe to it). I believe I will loose a little power with the tripples as More pipe more bends will cut the breathing down a bit but with all the Carpenter Power I might not even notice the extra restriction due to the longer pipes and how they snake around under the bike. I want to see if I can get the tripple look back with minimum power loss. Anyway you should have seen 3 heads as mine was there with Bones and some one elses from down under. My head is done with the exception of waiting on the delivery of the Titanium intake valves. so maybe in a week or two at the most the Head cams and pistons will be on my door step :D Have fun with your ride and I know the feeling of speeds above 140 often I hope to get some good days without wind so I can see how much above 163 mph I can hit before I add the carpenter goodies to the blower.

Scares the h3ll out of me just thinking about going that fast down the roads. Vision of falling and leaving a trail of body parts... Plus the ol' lady would beat me senseless for spending that kind of money...:eek:
 
Dude that sounds insane..how much power are you expecting with the supercharger and the head work? 163mph those cars and other unsuspecting bikes would have no idea how to comprehend....LOL. well. Now I'm waiting for the 02 emulator from dynojet because I bought the Pc 3 ex which allows no tuning under 2800....so around that rpm the lack of an 02 sensor connection gives me that flat spot....hopefully this emulator will help me out.
