Calling all Aussies - Rockets Downunder???

Aussiebikerdave last posted Nov '08 - it was his "return" post after 2 years in the wilderness. Maybe he's still lurking??? Other 2 seem not to be members any more.

All active on the other site and you might be thinking of The Noosa Salvo 2010, not that I was here there or even owning my my rocket then but I listen lurk and hover a lot between both sites and here people talking about past events

How about you men just fly over here next May and ride our bikes in Maggie Valley?
I will loan mine if you get really gooooood insurance.
Thats only because of the different side of the road issue.

just because you ride on the incorrect side of the road

If this is a colossally and profoundly stoopid idea then I apologise in advance. I was thinking about how a trip could be organised where most riders might be travelling similar distances and maybe not be travelling on really really familiar beats.
Now the ideas which see "rolling " or progressive trips are appealing I reckon. You know , I do x clicks and return having met up with Allan whose done x-1 , Ben with x-2, Charles with x-3, Donna with x-4 . At my turn around Allan does another click , etc etc etc.
However, if your Worships please and with the utmost respect to my colleague in prosecution ------
what about everybody going to Alice Springs ? ( still meeting others along the way of course )
The smartest route for me , for example would be if I rode to Townsville as a "starting" point ( could visit my son before or after his Afghanistan rotation depending on timing ) meet lads and lasses from NQ and go to the Isa then on the Barkly Highway from Camooweal to Tennant Creek then on the Stuart for the last little tiny bit ( 550 cliks ) into the Alice.
Who's interested.

maybe I'm to tired fromm working all night but I really didn't understand the first bit but I couldn't think of a more central meeting point than Alice Springs .... good one
