Broke down

I'll be replacing mine shortly not that there's anything wrong with it just don't want to leave it to chance , I'll be putting a gel filled marine battery in like o did with my last bike .
I just chucked a new battery in my 2 weeks ago. The old one was bit slow starting on one of the cooler mornings so I had it in the charger overnight but it was still a bit lazy. Like you @Wrecka I don't like leaving it to chance so I got a new one (didn't cost much more than a tow I suppose) and I keep the old one on the tender 24/7 as a stand-by or if anyone needs one in a pinch.

btw I got the Deka gel, made in USA (owned by H-D now I believe) and it seems to be a pretty solid unit. I am sure there are Marine equivalents out there as long as it has the CCA's and isn't made in china.

Deka is good brand

Consider the starter cable upgrade Lostride - that will give you even better cranking speed/ease of start.

Good idea! I will do that. I hate lazy starts!

I think there is a recommendation I read somewhere about a 1.4Kw starter upgrade (out of a Toyota celica?? or something from memory) also

@RKTNMYPKT ...Jim WTF? Brakes? Remember? Inquiring minds want to know the deal was with your brakes locking up

Maybe the reason it felt like the brakes were coming on was because when the main fuse went out and he lost ignition and he basically had engine braking.

... I just gotta figure out how to get my sorry ass the 70 miles to the dealer to pick it up when it's done ....

I was going to suggest you stop by, but at 70 miles you must be at the shop in Mtn View (CalMoto), rather than Livermore?

I never use dealer, I'm curious though - does Mtn View have better techs than Livermore, or just that's where you bought it?

I actually go to Cycle Specialties in Modesto, Great shop and people, worth the extra miles in my opinion

Spoke to the service manager today
Apparently the rear brake locked up on them during a test ride.
They went through the brakes and he said the only thing they found was the rear brake lever was adjusted to low

They raised it up and have been unable to get it to lock up since.

Does this make sense to anyone?
