Living Legend
All last week I have been busy studying the manual. Yes I have a hard copy. Reading everything about breaking the bike down and pulling the engine. Then reading about breaking the engine down and what tools are required. Yes ordered every tool required as prescribed by the manual. I now have four weeks to study and ask questions due to the shed taking four weeks to be built and installed. At 68,000 miles on the bike I really question my sanity on a rebuild. I have almost $6,000 in the shed and about $1,400 in parts coming in. That is not counting the 2500 kit or the Robertson transmission rebuild. That will be close to $7,000 dollars. Is it worth it? Believe so. Been talking about getting a new bike for over two years on here. Every thing from sport bikes to full touring bikes. Every time I back out at the last minute and decided it is not worth the money. This I believe is worth it. The idea of building a Super X was the last thing I would have thought of. It just sort of evolved. Could you imagine the expression on a 2020 owner from a stop being over run by a Rocket X?

Remember all it is a bike with a special paint job and some cosmetic improvements. Some comments awhile back on here did not set well with me. Anybody can go out and spend $20,000 plus on a bike but some can one up that with a bit of work. I am a firm believer in doing your own work. It is one thing to have a bike that someone else built for you and set back and brag about it. It is another thing to build it yourself. My objective is to build the fastest rocket from a dead stop to about 150 MPH. That is my goal and believe the objective is within reach.
