F*ck me. How many kms/miles on the bike? Or more to the point, when (and where) was it last serviced? I'd be taking it back there and letting them know.
The bike is 40000 km, but probably I haven't applied enough torque to the nuts at the last tire change when I lubricated the shaft. I installed now self locking nuts and torqued them to the specified moment. I am thinking of ordering original nuts but I am wondering if it wouldn't be better to leave it this way. It happens to loose nuts, last year one of my silencers fell in the middle of the road, so I am thinking that for someting serious like the drive, there should be better insurance than just the right torque.
Anyway wash your bikes regularly and check everything carefully while wiping it dry
