Bevel Box Plastic Crack?

Thanks for all the replies, helpful and humorous. I was able to get out to the bike for a while today. It's definitely cracked, but not really a problem. It does have the large square hole underneath. Plus, it's really just a rough cover. Even besides the bottom hole, the whole thing really isn't weather sealed at all around the edges. It's just filling the gap, designed for moisture to get in and be able to drain out.

So, that takes care of my biggest concern. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't a problem I needed to get into right away. I will eventually patch it, mostly just to try and contain it. The two sides spring out a bit since they're not connected. If anything made it worse, the only options would be a really ugly patch, or covering the missing pieces with that chrome cover. You cannot order a replacement plastic ring (looked into it).

And yes, while I got into it further today, I did some cleaning. Hell of a lot easier to get in there and spiff it up with the saddlebag and its bracket removed!

Thanks again for all the help! Love this forum!
