Bevel box gear oil: What do you use?

it allows the clutches to slide smoothly
for example if u r going in a circle and u dont have the ls then your outside wheel will slide grab.
personally i dont think its a prob
but its going to take professional to say which one is better.
I don't think it's a problem either. I'm thinking the friction modifiers didn't do any harm but were simply unnecessary. After all, if it damaged gears, seals, etc., I would think it would damage the same in a limited slip differential but I may be wrong. In any case, my bevel box has never given me a problems except that the drain plug broke and stripped out the female threads. I plugged it as described in another thread and I simply pump out the old gear oil through the fill hole. I find that to actually be easier than draining it through the drain hole.

The main issue here is the torque on the drain plug. There are several stories of busted plugs posted here. Ezzy-pezzy. I used to take the whole thing off and drain it through the fill port. While you'r at it, clean and lube the splines.
