Yeah I get it just having a little fun We don't have that kind of riding here Not a lot of wide open roads with no traffic But I can still run through a tank of fuel pretty fast
The way I see it...stop and smell the roses. And while your at it, fill up your tank. I welcome the break every 150 miles and I can go just as far as anyone else if I'm riding in a group. Besides, in my opinion rider fatigue ranks right up there with talking on a cell phone. Having an accident with a full and then ruptured bladder is not good.
depends if they were going or coming.I am just saying where I usually ride its usually out in the open not many towns to slow you down you can lock throttle down at 75 or so and ride a good part of the tank out without slowing or stopping

the norm is taking a break every 75 to 100 miles so trying to ride for 200 miles is spending over 3 hours in the saddle and thats not normal or comfy for the rider or passenger so good luck on wanting to redesign the bike with that type of riding in mind so no thanks not interested .
You're going to have 2 trains of thought. Those that think customizing your bike your way is your choice. This includes those of us that can burn through a tank of gas in about 140-150 miles.
Then there are those that think you need to ride like they do, on the same motor, with the same mods.
Yeah! and if you like something that's different than what I like you're a Dufas and not normal...DUH!
There are many times when riding that you (I, at least) can get lost in the zone of riding and just don't want to stop. I applaud everyone out there has the drive and the quest to come up with what THEY want in a bike and try to figure out how to do it. If it's not your thing, then you can just shake your head and move along without putting anyone else down.
I for one am curious to see what, IF anything Big Norm comes up with!
3-4 hours in the saddle is normal when my wife and I ride. We enjoy the riding part of the trip. The Rocket gets remarkable mileage when I follow her at the speed limit.

I have thought about this a lot. In my opinion it needs to be a purpose built tank that refills your main. In other words when you are streaking through the middle of nowhere and your gas light comes on you just hit a button on the bars and it dumps 2 or 3 gallons in the main tank. That way you always work off the same gauge and low fuel light so no guessing about when you will run out of fuel. I have threatend to build this system more than once...maybe it's time...
