Are my eyes deceiving me?

OK, I looked up this "Touring Car Racing" and found it is popular in OZ, Brazil, Germany, Italy, Japan, Nordic countries and Britain. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Touring_car_racing#Characteristics_of_a_touring_car

Looking over the race cars, I see highly modifies chassis with front wheels that are set with quite a lot of negative camber (assumedly to improve cornering). I also see very low aspect ratio tires with VERY small sidewalls that I doubt deform much if any at all.
Seems to me that the whole concept of allowing the sidewall of a tire to deform is totally counter-productive to predictive handling in high speed cornering. JMHO
You crack me up :roll::roll::roll:

Fred Flinstone used to lean his car with the big long rock wheels in the cartoons so maybe they will work o_Oo_Oo_O:confused::D

He also ran darkside on his front too. Maybe that's why we don't see any new Flintstone shows... Just sayin'.

I've said it before, but I guess I need to say it again. When I see Toyota Camry supplying the same tyres they use for NASCAR on their street cars I will start considering looking at what racing bikes use as well. My Camaro didn't come with racing tyres. If they are so much better then why can't I use them on the road?

Racing on a track is very different from riding on a road.

Thats just a dumb statement , of course race tyres are different they are made to stick like shyte to a blanket but only for a short time . The principle is the same though round profile for MC and square profile for CT .My statement about WSBK and GP bikes is this , if car tyres are so much better why are they not used in the top end of the sport in all events . I would think the amount of CT users would be a very very small percent of all bike riders in the world so if your happy using them good on you , but please don't tell newbies they are safer and better .

I think if you use a CT tyre on your bike to save money because they last longer , you would not pay for race tyres for your Camaro and you would need two sets , slicks and wets :):thumbsup:

I say that because so many others use the argument of what race bikes use. My point is that it is an irrelevant argument, which you seem to agree with.

As far as the tyres on the Camaro go, that was one of the reasons that I didn't get a higher performance model. They have low profile summer tyres, and I didn't want to have another set of rims and tyres for winter, along with a less comfortable ride for the rest of the year.

If the car tires worked better than the MC tires you would see them on Race bikes drags road racing etc and the tire makers would be selling them for racing as they do offer drag slicks for straight line racing only So if your turning corners there are not any CT designs being made for 2 wheel racing or road use Has anyone seen any Rocket winning any races using a car tire ? weve tried them on JASON DISALVOS Silverback and others But the fact is the MC tires work better I for one would use any tire that gave us an advantage on the track or the road I like the fact that the Car tires last longer and I think thats the only reason they are used

Here is a photo of supposedly a Carpenter machine at Bonneville. Is that a DARKSIDE!?!?!? I bet Art had a coronary.

AS you can see JASON was having major handling problems and almost crashed several times trying to run with the CAR TIRE
