Are my eyes deceiving me?

When I see a car lean into a turn, ill put a flat tire on.
maybe you should watch Touring Car Racing under car footage of the tyres deforming and yes leaning to maintain grip when these cars get serious and start lifting the inside wheels round corners

That's because they lean out not in. The weight transfer as they lean out overcomes the ability of the sway bar to transfer weight to the inside tire and up it comes.

yes but you are missing the point the tyre on the ground still hangs on because the modern performance tyre is designed to deform to maintain the contact patch and grip rather than slide out

The physics are totally different.
A car tire has force applied laterally across the tread and the very stiff sidewall copes with that by flexing as little as possible.
A bike tire is designed to cope with some lateral force but far more is applied vertically, as the bike leans the tire leans allowing more force to directed vertically.

Argue with it all you want, the simple fact is that on a bike, car tires can work, but bike tires work and their ultimate performance limits are higher on a motorcycle.

If that weren't the case MT would be flat.

whistle if you like, but being the OPEN MINDED person that I am and never taking any thing for granted I decided to see what all the fuss was about, but quiet simply I ran one as an experiment because I wanted to see if the Brigdy was as good as it was made out to be .... the verdict is it is much better than the Metz and great for for shorter 1 to 2 hour runs up thru the hills but lacking when towing the trailer losing grip several time while lent over as well as in the straight lines.
The Dark Side can still be run quickly thru the hills and while not quiet as nimble I never had any trouble with fast changes of direction and have pushed them harder than I have a CT up there on the Clyde Mtn.

I have been more conservative with the Brigdy even to the point of Ruzz complaining that I seem to riding slower but I didn't want to be seen as abusing the brigdy, I recently bought a second rear rim for two reasons 1 being to experiment with painting and 2 to put a darkside on it so for the longer towing trips and also just some of the long trips where I cant avoid spending hours on boring straight roads I wont be just wrecking the centre of a brigdy, it only takes me about 15 minutes to change over the rear wheel

I might add I am having a good Giggle out of this, but have to go I have an appointment to go and get the All Clear after getting a large Melanoma removed out of my back 5 year ago.
catch you later

Hanso, in your case it does make sense, the way you are doing it. Actually it makes a lot of sense if you carry a second rim-tire for play once you arrive at the playground.

Good luck with that Hans!

Maybe the good doctor can help you get your mojo back while he's at it?

:)yeah he did but as Richard just said riding on the "Salt" is a lot different to the "Road" or should I say the "Real World Conditions" not some lame "scientific formula" which at the end of the day are some nerds opinions based on his opinion of the facts as he see's them
:D:roll::D:roll::D:roll:
:whitstling: let the Sh!t fight start it should be good for another giggle or two :whitstling:

I caught that in-you-endo . . . you wise @ss!!! :p
