Congrats and great job! That's the 1st time I've seen holes drilled into the bearclaw and it looks pretty snazzy.
As I said before - I'll be doing the Jardines and K & N's in the coming days. Any tips or words of wisdom on either? Especially the Jardines? Thanks!
John,
Pick up a tube high temp, silcone with copper gasket material. You will need it where the pipes slide together.
The actual install was not bad at all. Fit everything together, front to back then tighten things up.
One thing I did due was put a washer under each of the header nuts because I was not sure if things were getting tight or just bottoming out on the inside of the nuts..
I also put loc-tite on the screws that hold the heat guards on.
The hose clamps that you will use to hold on some of the heat shields. Wait and thread the clamps thru the shields until your at the bike so that you make sure they are in the best direction to be able to hide the clamp screws...
Other then that ,,,, pretty simple .... Oh Make sure you do not point the t clamp screw at the back tire.... I know it most likely would never make it to the tire,,, but then again....
Have fun and let us know how you make out....
Curt
