An Honest Review of The Triumph Bonneville...

Bland, uninspired bikes do nothing for me. That's why I have a Rocket.
I've had the Rocket 10 years, the Bonnie for 2, the rocket hardly gets ridden.
The Bonnie with a few mods is a really enjoyable ride & half the price of an R3.
I may part out the beast as it is so rarely used now.

Just know my old balanced and blueprinted 1978 750 Bonnie would blow one of the new 900's into the weeds.

But isn't it "rarely ridden" because of the modifications that you've made to it. Some of which would have not added to it's rideability surely  back wheel on the front etc ...

If I get reincarnated as a jockey size bloke I would maybe consider a new Bonnie, they are just too small for comfortable long distance runs, 40 years ago that's size was mostly all we had, since then I have been spoiled by generous size bikes so a Thunderbird would be as small as I would grudgingly go.

It is rarely ridden because the moment I rode the Bonnie I felt at home on it, tiny like back in the 60s.
My days on big heavy bikes like my R3 & BMW RT may be numbered in favour of the new lightweight.
Being a sunny sunday rider in the UK, does not exactly mean a busy riding schedule, so some bikes may be neglected.
TC you have previously made it perfectly clear you do not like my bike, that's absolutely fine we all have our preferences, good job too, but "NONE of the mods added to the rideability" is a bit of a blanket criticism
Progressive suspension front & rear, pretech 6 pots, russell day long seat, triple stock bhp, pair of carbon fibre wheels of course the front is a one off specially made FRONT wheel (but it is fine once rolling) + so much more, cannot all be detrimental. :(
Anyway did I say how much I enjoy my little Bonnie :D:inlove

Thanks for clearing that up mate .. true what you have done to your RIII does not appeal to me but who gives a rats what I think .. to each their own as they say ;)

I really liked my '08 Bonnie, but can't say that I've missed it since getting the Rocket.

That said; I do think they make a fine general "run around town" bike.
