Hey guys, I just got back from lunch.. and maaan was it good...

but what im really here for is because as we came back from lunch, I took a quick glance at my bike...

and you know what? I didn't notice a big clugy box underneath.. so after further examination, I do believe my bike has a cat bypass and the Triumph tors.

I took some quick pics of it, can any one help me confirm what Im about 90% sure of?

you can make out a bit of the verbage on the pipes:

but I wrote it down and it appears the Part numbers are A9600203, 204, and 205

the rest of the writing says:

Product does not conform to epa noise standards, use on motorcycles subject to epa regulation of federal law. This is designed for closed circuit compitition use only

Not for road use.[/url]

In my limited understanding of all things exhaust related, judging by the pics and the part numbers you do indeed have the cat box eliminator and TORS, congrats on a good find.

Woohooo...

Ive been scanning ebay etc for the catbypass and have considered a set of tors since I cant afford the more fancy stuff.

I remembered a post a while back saying that some of the early 04/05 may have come stock with the bypass and tors... and totally spaced out on looking into my bike.

theres a few hundred bucks that I can now re-direct to some progressive shocks... Maybe I better check those out before I decide to buy as well.

any give away signs if the shocks are progressive... hell.. maybe I better double check for a tuneboy hookup,

shoot if I find progressives and a tuneboy.. Im on my way to Vegas next..hahaha

Maaaan. I really need to become more familiar with my bike...

I actually feel kinda dumb for not recogniziing that in the past 4 or 5 months I think ive owned the bike now... but a happy find for sure.. kinda like christmas for me..hahaha

And you look too be going round too many left handers as tire wear is more predominant on that side and chicken strips are too big lean it over more

Im work'n on that lean still..hahaha pegged it once for the first time about a week ago...

and it does appear I need to be looking into a brake leak.. thanks for pointing that out....

Id find it very surprising that your bike came standard with the pipes and bypass as the dealer would be giving away a fair amount of money worth.
I would think more than likely the previous owner had them fitted or the bike was maybe a ex demo with the pipes etc fitted and sold that way.

Yea, I agree that the previous owner probably had them fitted after he bought it.

although the bike was originally purchased by the previous owner I believe back in april of 04.

When I came across that posting stating that some early r3 may have come stock with the bypass + tors.. I meant to check back then if I had either/or... and just spaced it out...

Was all that noise not a bit of a giveaway :D or did you think they all sounded like that

Merry x-mass :p

Honestly Scotty, I thought they all sounded that way.. hahaha

funny thing is... I went to a big biker spring bash last weekend and some guy with a harley but was familiar with the R3 asked me (just in general) if I ever thought of putting after market pipes on the bike.

I said why? these are plenty loud for me, and the power is great..hahaha

but now going along those lines, Im going to have to get out and hear what a stock set of pipes sound like?

because even though I thought these wern't too bad, I think I would still like a bit more out of the sound from time to time.. but its never been a real big concern for me.

At idle I havn't been overly impressed with the sound.. but I do have to admit that the growl its always given while throttling up has been nice.

I really need to hear some stock so I can really appreciate what I have..lol

The couple of hundred bucks ya saved you should be looking at triple filters and re tune then take out ya secondries and it will be xmas all over again
You reckon it accelerates now do the filters and secondries and wear a nappy :)

this is one of the reasons Ive been looking into the bypass/tors, because I have been concidering the triple filters and removing secondaries Im hoping one of my fellow socal r3 riders out here are familiar with that mod so they can help me out some time.

I think I really have to look into the shocks first, then need to decide when I can bite the bullet for a tuneboy before I move on.
