Had them checked at the 10k maintenance check , really around 11k , the guys at Back Roads Triumph let me stay and learn what was being done. Seams that the measurement is to see if the valves get to tight , not to lose like in cars. Mine turned out to be fine:)

My check was at 10K and 3 needed adjusting and the,"big cheese" did mine.

Had mine checked at 11K and was told they were OK. $300 later. Got home and decided it was a good time to detail the bike. Lifted the tank and holy crap! The beautiful duct work was not connected in three places, and there wasn't a finger print at all on the cover which was dusty all over. Confronted the shop- "all was done as per the routine checks". WHy do all the scum bag wrenchers seem to work at the repair shops.

I'm beginning to feel like it's time to break out the service manual & the metric wrenches. Greyfoxs' $300 and "nothing done" statement fears me.

Besides, by the time I load the bike, trailer it 70+ miles & leave it for a few weeks, I could, most likely, purchase any needed tools & "Get-er-done" a little swifter myself. Learning more about the Rocket in the process as well.

Thanks for all the input everyone. Keep the survey comments coming.

See ya!

I just checked mine at 36,000 kms and they were all okay. Several were actually at the loose end of the tolerance, e.g. ex side .008" feeler went in snugly but a .009" couldn'e be forced in so I will leave it be. I was concerned with things being too tight but all is well.

Actually i didn't have them "checked"...i did it myself. "Keep your stinking paws off my bike you dirty ape!" Anyways, at 30,000 they were almost the same as when i had the motor out at 12,000 miles. The exhaust were all a loose 20mm, and the intakes were around the 15mm mark with two at 12mm. The exhaust don't tap or rattle, so i think i'll just leave them alone for now. Bigern

I pick mine up tomorrow from the 10K check. My dealer is checking the numbers himself. his anaylasis is the 04 and 05 seldom need adjustment 07 and 08 most always need, with the 06's (which mine is) swing each way. But he noted that he hadn't done many 06's yet at 10k. More info tomorrow
