Have you checked you have the sidestand fully up - it has a lock out switch to prevent running with it down or even possibly ajar. Also the clutch has a cutout switch near the hand grip that must be engaged if not in Neutral when starting by pulling in the clutch lever. Obviously there is a cutout switch for the neutral position as well. You can start with bike on sidestand or sidestand down but it must be in neutral.

Check to see if the ring is slightly bent this can cause problems with the ABS. Both cleaning and checking for a slight bend is a good place to start. Firm believer in the K.I.S.S. program.
