I've been looking at motorcycle alarm systems for over 6 months and finally narrowed it down to the Scorpio SR-i900. I received it a week before the ES trip and took it to Engle Motors here in town to have it installed. To make the 5 hour wait and 2 hours labor charge worse.... I'm told they're not comfortable with the install, not willing to cut into the ignition/starter jumper and then tell me the Triumph wiring harness I had shipped with the unit doesn't even fit the R3.
In ES, I'm crying in my milk to several Captains and Danno says, " I really don't understand why it couldn't be installed." I told him I'd ship the unit and accessories to him for a "Look-See". In a week or so, he contacted me to say he didn't see anything hard about the installation and it should be " A Piece of Cake".
Last Sunday I rode to Lincoln, had great food ( of course ) and some wonderful conversation with Danno, Billz and his lovely wife (Bill, you're a lucky dog!)
Next morning, the bike goes into his shop and including my little side trip to a NAPA store for a light bulb for the gas gauge, Danno had the entire system up and running in 90 minutes.... with one of the cleanest installs I've ever seen. He found safe, dry and do-able locations that I didn't know existed. It allowed me to keep the K&N filter and tools under the seat and my Autocom still on the left side. Where did he put everything.........OH NO YOU DON'T.
It's been working like a charm ever since and with the small RF transceiver in my pocket, it lets me know everytime someone gets too close, touches, moves, tilts or tries to mess with the R3 or it's ignition.
FYI: Scorpio Alarms SR-i900
