I've been looking at motorcycle alarm systems for over 6 months and finally narrowed it down to the Scorpio SR-i900. I received it a week before the ES trip and took it to Engle Motors here in town to have it installed. To make the 5 hour wait and 2 hours labor charge worse.... I'm told they're not comfortable with the install, not willing to cut into the ignition/starter jumper and then tell me the Triumph wiring harness I had shipped with the unit doesn't even fit the R3.

In ES, I'm crying in my milk to several Captains and Danno says, " I really don't understand why it couldn't be installed." I told him I'd ship the unit and accessories to him for a "Look-See". In a week or so, he contacted me to say he didn't see anything hard about the installation and it should be " A Piece of Cake".

Last Sunday I rode to Lincoln, had great food ( of course ) and some wonderful conversation with Danno, Billz and his lovely wife (Bill, you're a lucky dog!)

Next morning, the bike goes into his shop and including my little side trip to a NAPA store for a light bulb for the gas gauge, Danno had the entire system up and running in 90 minutes.... with one of the cleanest installs I've ever seen. He found safe, dry and do-able locations that I didn't know existed. It allowed me to keep the K&N filter and tools under the seat and my Autocom still on the left side. Where did he put everything.........OH NO YOU DON'T.

It's been working like a charm ever since and with the small RF transceiver in my pocket, it lets me know everytime someone gets too close, touches, moves, tilts or tries to mess with the R3 or it's ignition.

FYI: Scorpio Alarms SR-i900

DANNO' new venture.......

.........Sounds like Danno need to get out of the 'bump and grind' business and open a Triumph Dealership........

Lets see. He needs $250,000.00 up front money. A paltry sum in Washington but not a paltry sum for us real people.

If we all kick in a hundred bucks, there are enough posters on this site (actually enough posters that are active) that we could make that a reality very easily.

I'll put up the first C-Note. Have it in my wallet. It's in an envelope now. Serial number FF93489547 B

It's in the drawer awaiting your reply.

Actually with enough duct tape and bungee cords you can do anything:D (I learned that trick on my 66 VW microbus when I was 17). As for the $250,000 to open a triumph dealership, I'm about $450,000 short (today's financial crises, debt load). It would be really neat though, a great change from bustin' knuckles on cars for the last 30 years.

I love a story with a happy ending... sniff sniff

I'll chip in the second hundred :D, hell, I might even go work there if I could use the company Cornhusker Tickets every once in awhile.

Tomo would be rolling his big Snap-On tool box over to your place.........

Just think Danno....All the business you would have. Everyone here would make the pilgrimage. We could have the RAA in your town. You could service the bikes in rotation.
..............You could listen to us ***** about the transmissions, the fuel injection glitches, squeaky brakes, headshake, faliled clutches and of course, the piss poor tires.

Sounds like it's right up your alley.

All for a hundred bucks on my part. What a bargain.:D

I might even move to Nebraska if you opened up a shop there!

Oh wait.. Nebraska, I may have spoke too soon.. Okay.. I would definitely make RAA IV.. lol

PianoMan, I have been called a lucky dog before...;)

As for the hundred bucks, count me in HH18063625A, awe what the hey how about another one FB26293598C!

Lets see, so far we got $400.00. If I kick in another couple hundred we could start an inventory of a pair of Metzlers! We're on our way boys. I even have a Triumph sign to put out that Pianoman gave me!

Gee, I fixed Pianoman's alarm and everyone thinks I need to open a bike shop. Well a couple of days ago I fixed my Mother's 3 wheel scooter and now I got all the old folks in her "retirement village" wanting me to work on their scooters and power chairs! Somehow I might be able to combine the two...maybe I could put a 2300 cc motor on a power chair with an alarm... Maybe Flip could machine me some custom accessories:D
