3800 Lumen H4 LED Headlight

They generate almost no heat, but a lot of light. It is what is called efficiency.

The OEM headlights on the older RIIIs, including the Classic, are not only useless, but dangerous. A good quality H4 will improve things, but the headlight bypass (such as Eastern Beaver) is essential to get full voltage to the headlights, and so provide full lighting power - and save the ignition switch. These 3800 lumen lights will then blow all the above out of the water and generate almost no heat in comparison.
 
All these LED put out around 3,000 RAW lumens, which is based upon calculations and means little in the real world environment.
The pattern the light(s) cast that produces effective object identification for the rider is the true nitty-gritty.

I don't know anything about that. All I know is that once I was dim, but now I am bright.
 
Whilst I may remain dim, my motor stands out bright!
Anyone coming to RAA XI running the new 8630 Evolutions or the older 8630.
Thinking about bringing my small light meter to perhaps do some minor comparison testing.

Shall need to find a dark large area, have a rider sitting on the motor, engine running, whilst we find and measure the pattern (width and length) for human identification distances (.3 candle power / 3.2 lux).
Likely need a couple 100' tapes at least.
Any interest in doing this?
