33 years ago I bought two of these, one for parts and the other for racing. Of course the one for racing died half way through the season. I should have bought four of them...
45 years ago, I had one of these........ BSA 650 Firebird Scrambler. Removed the mufflers and installed a couple of shorties. What a racket. Loved the bike and the freedom it gave me. Almost 100 miles to a tank if I remember correctly. Loved the smell of gasoline tickling those Amal carbs.
Remember the time I overfilled the primary chaincase. My girlfriend and I rode to the park and when we got there, she had a black streak of gear oil down her back from the chain oiler. Damage control had to kick in.
40 years ago I purchased my dream bike. First of only 2 new bikes I have bought. Rocket being new # 2. Although there have been about 30 bikes in between. Several more before # 1 and several more after # 2. 1974 750 Four. $2245 tax, tags, title and accessories. Its orange - matched my hair.
Julie and I, May 1982 Kawasaki Z1000J had just been run over by an XA Falcon Van while backed into the curb infront of the top cafe in Kyogle. Went to Lismore Suzuki to buy a new Katana and ended up with a GS1100G instead. Same money more comfortable. Note crack in chin peice of my helmet,it was on the mirror of the Kawasaki. Falcon Vans insurance hadn't paid out yet.
