This was the first new bike i ever owned 1974 Suzuki 750 same as in the picture. I have to say it was the most dependable and durable bike i owned. It would take a licken and keep on ticken.. I used to change the oil once every two years, i liked that little oil window on the side.
Now your talkin.
I bought the next model brand new in 1976, pearl grey with black and gold pin striping.
Had the motor ported and polished, fitted wiseco pistons, small diameter rear sprocket (for touring) with a bikini fairing and managed 100 miles along the crystal highway between Rocky and Townsville in less than an hour on more than one occasion.
Aahh the mammarys !!
39 years ago my then girlfriend popped up with a 250 Yamaha 2 stroke. What a blast that thing was. I even painted the tank a pearl yellow. Her brother bought a Kaw 500 2 stroke triple. That thing ran like a raped ape. Next came a 1977 Honda 550 which we rode up Mt Washngton in NH, all the way from NYC. When we got married I picked up a 1978 Honda SS. Wish I still had pics of it. In between those bikes and my current and last Rocket we had a 1983 Wing, a 1983 Venture and then a 99 Venture, which I had for about 13 years. Almost bought a new 85 VMAX but back then my credit rating sucked and I was young enough not to care.
