The photo of me on the Kawasaki 1000 on the 3rd page of this thread was taken in Kyogle in 1981 out side Doug Campbell's bike shop. Do you have ties to Kyogle or was your family only there for a while. My birth certificate say's born in Kyogle Memorial Hospital.

No only lived there for about 3 years. The old man was a copper stationed there. We moved about a bit when I was a kid, I imagine it's how army/airforce/navy etc kids live. Just had a look at the old house on Google Maps street view, still basically the same 30 odd years later.

One of the reasons Motor cycles started to become less popular in the early 90s $397 CTP slip , I have just paid my CTP for the Rocket with Shannon's Insurance $438 22 years later

It is a small world, I got my motorbike and car licence at the Kyogle police station in January 1980. There was only about 4 coppers at Kyogle chances are your farther gave me my licence. I did all my unlicensed, helmet less, alcohol enhanced yahooing around the Kyogle, Grevillia, Woodenbong area from 1977 to 1986. Only time local Kyogle police gave me a serve was the morning after 3 mates and I were in a bad car crash where we had just bailed the driver out of the Kyogle lockup after he had been done for drunk driving. Might have been your dad that had a talk to us.

Spent a freezing cold night sleeping on the forecourt of the servo in Kyogle , 25 odd years ago. Had one wet blanket between me and Marty. The local cop had escorted us out of town to the park .. told us to sleep (it off ) there. Marty may have instigated a blue with some loudmouth local (that had told us on numerous occasions how he "didn't like bikies") .. we snuck back into town and the shelter of the servo when the rain started to pelt down .. c#nt of a night , nice town though Kyogle.
