Since I have purchased my 06 Rocket a couple of months ago. When I accellerate hard in 2nd, sometimes it would clunck and feel like it would slip a tooth in the tranny. I have been reading about the tranny problems sometime seen in these bikes. I am sure the reason the guy sold the bike was because of this problem. I have read here on the forum about maybe the factory fixing the problem under warrenty even though the bike is out of warrenty with 13,600.
So today I rode the 220 miles round trip to Oklahoma City in the 100* temps to have the Triumph dealer there test drive the bike and see if he could get it to skip a gear for him. Believe it or not, he got it to jump a tooth for him when he drove it. He came back and said he would call the factory on Tuesday to see if they will authorize the upgrade and repair it under warrenty for me. The service manager was very nice and said that they had done several of these repairs at no cost to the customers and he thinks they should approve this one for me. The only problem is they tell me that they will need the bike for 4 to 6 weeks. I guess thats not so bad when its 100 plus outside. I will post what the out come is. It will be my luck that they come back and tell me that they are no longer offering this at no charge. We will see.

Hey Mr T Evans I think your luck is about to change, it sounds like they're going to take care of it for you. The bike only has 13,000 miles on it and Triumph will take that into consideration. Just think the a-hole that sold you the bike should of asked his dealer to fix it, instead you probably got a really good deal on it and will practically have a new bike because it seems all that goes wrong with these bikes is this problem with the tranny. Good luck and please let us know and post the dealer's name and location as other captains in your area would like to know for future reference.

My 06 does that once in a while only difference is it jumps into 3rd I am not convinced it has a tranny problem although I do put a little strain on the drive line every now and then. I also could be hitting the heel shifter with my foot as I go back to shift, usually the torque is tremendous when this happens and the tire smikes a little :D I am curious what is your engine serial number?
