20352 map on a Rocket III??!!

So this file you attached is what you uploaded from your ecu?

That is correct, the hex file is downloaded from my 2005 R3 after the workshop visit,
and stupid me did not do a download before the workshop visit...

Yes that is correct, when I wanted to see what they did on the workshop I downloaded the map from my 2005 R3 and tried to compare with 20222 from TuneECU, I could not do it. But when I reopened the hex file that I downloaded from the bike I noticed to my surprise that it was a 20352 map in the bike and that is used for a R3 Roadster...

Too weird. Is it possible that your 2005 has a Roadster ECU? If not, I think you should make a copy of 20222 with the 2ndaries open 100% and load it. That's the tune that's supposed to be in there. Let us know how it works.

I have to agree with you Doug this is weird. One would think the Triumph Tech would know the difference in the bikes. Anyway I also would install aproper map in it with the secondaries opend up, speed limiter raised, and speedometer corrected while your at it. Typically if your not running the Exedra max the speedo is off 7%

The problem is that the bike was imported so I don't have any record of what the previous owner did, even the workshop record that is supposed to be written in the book that comes with the bike was totally blank, so I don't even know how it was maintained...
I have to try to get some serial number from the ECU or some other identification to see if it is the stock model belonging to 2005.
But no worries it will be fixed one or the other way, we have winter running up now so I have lots of time to investigate and to make vice decisions...

The workshop also claimed that the map used in the bike was for an other exhaust pipe so that was the reason why they changed the map, but suppose that was just a bad excuse.

Ok If its a 2005 then first the only ECU that will fit it are off the 2004 to 2009 Standard and Classic models. No Touring No Roadster. The ecu has the serial number on the outside plus the hex file number originally loaded into it. Although Triumph did update the hex files in 2006/07 for a idle fix problem which most likeley was when they started getting POS TPS sensors. If you could take a picture of your ECU I can tell you whether its the old style Pre Touring and Roadster. Another thing to consider is the teh Plugs and wires are a we bit diferent between the Roadster/Touring ECU and the Standard/CLassic models So you would have to rewire the plugs or buy another harnes and have extra wires left over do to differences like ABS. I spent time looking at adapting the old ECU to the Roadster for Carpenter Racing before Tune boy worked the bugs out of the high RPM maps fopr the new style ECU. (Big Pain in the dupa)
So pull your right side cover off and take a picture of the ECU and Plugs going into it no need to unplug it just a picture will do. My bet is if it is a 05 it has the older style ecu and because Tune ecu does basic copying of the map not copying the software fully is why they were able to shove it into the ECU. With Tune boy you would not be able to.

Tanx, this is great information, I'm at Miami airport right now in the business launch on my way back home, will be late evening tomorrow before I can get any pictures on the net...

I'm quite sure it is a standard 2005, but I'll do this, then it is settled once for all...

No problem all I need is a picture near the ecu plugs to tell plus while your at it you might as well post soem pictures of the bike.

I wish I was in Miami dern I just got doen with the snow blower

Ok will do, start with the easy part, picture of the bike, have one on my computer...
The picture of the ECU will follow.

Yep 05 Standard and a nice looking one I might add
I see the bags, crash bars and chrome water pump cover were added. Your bike looks to be well kept. Is that the second set of Metzlers on it?
