Hi all! Been lurking on here for a number of years now without posting. I have had a 2013 Rocket for 11 years and over 68000 miles on the odometer. When turning on can hear the fuel pump pressurize as usual and no check engine light. When I try to start bike it turns over fine but it sputters, tries to fire and immediately dies after letting off the srart. My initisl prognosis is it may possibly be the crank position sensor. Has anyone had the same symptoms and what did you find the problem to be? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

If you hold a little bit of throttle on will the bike stay running?
Yes. I believe I found at least part of my problem. I had the exhaust off to remove the swing arm so I could grease the drive shaft splines. I checked and I think part of the issue was I didn't have the right exhaust clamped down. After it started I let it run until the colling fan kicked on. Now for the even more fun part. . .

I checked my oil level in the tank and it was high. By high I mean an inch! Last oil change was about 500 miles ago. So I grabbed the fluid pump and pumped out around 3/4 to 1 quart of oil. The thing was the oil looked off. Had a brown look to it that looked way darker than it should have after only 500 miles. Now im thinking maybe I've got a leaking head gasket. Any thoughts on how to confirm this? Haven't checked the coolant in the radiator yet (waiting for it to cool down).
