I was at my dealer today on an unrelated matter. While there, I looked at a brand new all Black 2012 R3T siting on the show room floor. Yes,,,,it has anti lock brakes. I put my hand on the control module located under the frame next to the CAT box. The bike also had ABS sensor wheels on the front and rear wheel hubs.

Nice bike, but I'm really glad I bought an 011!! The 012 does not have the Triumph accessories the 011 limited edition had. Same price, less stuff! The Black also has metallic in it. I like my Black better. Anyway,,,there you have it. The 012 R3T does have ABS!!

P.S. My dealer is also a Royal Enfield dealer. I looked at a few while there. Quite frankly,,,,one ugly bike!!!!!!!! Not sure who would buy one. I don't think he moves many.

Dealer here sells Enfield's too. I don't mind them in a quirky, nostalgic sort of way. Perfect for going you own way ------ slowly. They putt along OK for a single, which is exactly the sound they make, but perhaps should do a bit better with the 500cc. Wouldn't buy one if my life depended on it though.

There's a bloke in Melbourne Ithink that makes crankcases for Enfeilds. If you give him a new 500 single and a few grand he will give you back a 1000 v twin. He calls them Carberies I think I have a write up on them somewere in an Old Bike Australia magazine

Dennis, I believe the fact that ones owns a Rocket automatically disqualifies one from judging the looks of another motorcycle. Since my previous ride was an R1200GS I believe its a proven fact that I know absolutely nothing about motorcycle aesthetics.

Yep your right. I'm going to say something here that might be taken wrong and piss of some here, but quite frankly, except for the R3T on the floor, I was not really impressed with any of the Triumph bikes on the floor. I'm not sure what it is, Maybe I'm just used to Harleys and Metric bikes. I'm not sure, but the designs of the bikes just don't "float my boat!"

Interesting observation. To me the Triumph twins are some of the best looking bikes on the market. We have a couple of late 60's TR6C's that we're going to restore and I really think the new Hinkley twins are a pretty close approximation of the older bikes, style wise of course. The new ones don't leak oil or suffer from random electrical failure.

I've never been a fan of the cruiser look, Harleys don't do much for me and the metric clones do even less. To me a Ducati, any Ducati, followed closely by MV Agusta are the epitome of bike art. I only ride a cruiser style bike due to the fact that my old body isn't tolerant of the riding position dictated by a proper motorcycle.

So there ya go. The old different strokes thing. That's why its great there are so many choices out there.

I don't think they are meant for performance though mate just a remake of the original so you can have the vintage look and feel with reliability without restoring a basket case . I would buy one to add to the garage if money was unlimited but not if it was to be my solo ride .

I agree, I have been looking at some Victorys and plan to attend a Ride one own One day at a local dealer. That Cross Country Touring has caught my attention, I like the Hard Ball too.
