The width of the rear tire can make it feel like it's trying to steer by itself when you go over an uneven surface like highway wheel ruts (and catching the edge of a speed bump you are trying to go around
). You can think you cleared the dip/rut/whatever with the front tire, only to catch it on half the rear one. It's a weird feeling when it happens too.
