2005 rocket3 with2,700mls

Nice looking 05 Jet Black with Matching Corbin beetle bags. I agree partially with at least checking the rubber out to make sure they are not fry rot cracked. Grease the rear drive shaft spline ASAP as it did not have much in it for lubrication from the factory 10 years ago. Can I ask where you got her from. Perhaps norther Indiana ?

Hello Geno and welcome from VA. I had an '82 Iron Head Sporty back in '85, loved the rough sucker back then as a young sailor, thanks for bringing back a smile. And remembering the way I rode that bike, I am so glad they didn't sell me an R3 back then, I wouldn't be here today I'm sure.

head lights are poor might do a search on headlights.
also the eastern beaver to bypass the ignition switch.

G'day and Welcome.
When I first saw your post I thought the 2,700mls stood for millilitres rather than miles and that someone had done some SERIOUS modifications to the 2,300 millilitre engine. Certainly are low miles for a 2005 model sounds like a good buy!!

How is the new pulled back foot pegs on your newer model rocket3 is their any better of a ride or handling also their is supposed to be a bit increase of power compared to my 05, "Ride and be Safe"

The footpegs likes and dislikes seem to be pretty equal. Personally I like them set back. It feels just right to me but those who are used to forward pegs don't seem to like them as much.

Re power, the Roadster has more than the Touring type and in 2013 the restrictions were removed on the first 3 gears making more still. I believe you can download a tune to give you the same.

If you want real power the bike needs to be black and ultimately have a red stripe!

Yea big guy those were some days ago, that was the year that AMF took over Harley and they opened up the NJ Parkway to motorcycles and that bike was only 4speed, a big difference from the R3. I must tell you I am yet a bit intimidated with the weight and slow handling what can you tell me about the ride I want so badly to be able to cruise comfortably but it seems so unforgivable is that in my head or can this bike lean. "Be Safe"
