    Check'n in.....

Just got a new can put on, washed, waxed and fired it up just to listen to those four cylinders. Still miss the Rocket, it had become part of the family just like so many of you that I had the pleasure of meeting. Just thought I'd check in:)

Got the wife a new phone and....

Went out yesterday to get the wife a new phone and wanted to stop by and look at an FZ 1. I've been reading about them for a while and wanted to see one in person. I was looking for a more upright and more powerful alternative to my Speed Four. I had seen one on the web for $8400 from another...

    Been awhile/ new bike

Haven't posted in a while, just peek in every now and then. I miss the Rocket a lot but the Gold Wing has thus far been a good bike. It just lacks the personality (and power) of the Roc. I pick up this 2012 Tenere in about two weeks and will check out all the county (gravel) roads I've been...

    New ride

Well I know this is blasphemy but I traded the Roc on this 2010 Goldwing. The Rocket was/is a great bike and took me all across most of the west part of the country. I'll miss the beast but this bike more fits mine and my wife's touring needs. I've rode this Wing a couple of times and love it...

Hope y'all had a good Labor Day.

Hadn't got to ride all weekend long so I made it a point to get out this afternoon. Ninety degrees and mostly cloudy, a little warm but nice when the clouds covered the sun. I took several F.M. roads and just cruised for a change and took in the scenery. Tomorrow back to the grind but I can...

    Headlight adjustment

Well I tried to adjust my headlights according to an article that I read. First you measure the center of headlight from the ground and draw a line on a wall at that height and have the lights 25' from the wall. Then draw another line 2" below the first line. The low beam should shine on the...

    Adjure headlights

Just got my Adjure brand headlights in and I installed one of them. I plan to take some pics tonight so as to see the difference between the two. In the daylight I noticed that the stock headlight is brightest in the outside corner of the left headlight. The Adjure looks to be more evenly...

    PianoMan

Pianoman it's good to hear from you. Couldn't reply on your post, don't belong to the Kansas group . And after riding through the western part of your state in June I don't want to;):D, and yes you need to buy another Rocket.

    Kansas Captains

On the second day of my trip I'll be in your state for the first time. I already have a 600 mile day and my question is... Is it worth an extra 100 miles to see Dodge City? Anything there worth seeing? Thanks.

    Metzlers with Avons?

In light of the official/ unofficial recall that only one person knows about on another forum and was kind enough to post, and then passed on by Markc (thank you), I'm wondering about worse case senario. If they don't have the Avons ready by my very soon up coming trip, would it be okay to run a...

    Hand guards

I know this may sound crazy with summer upon us, but has any body tried mounting hand gaurds to the Rocket? I'm going to be in Yellowstone soon and the morning temps will be cold, at least for a Texan. It'd be nice to block the chill from the hands.

    Booger Dave

Dave, Ive only met you once in Eureka Springs but you can see why I thought of you when I saw this. It was on a fridge near Luckenbach at a cafe we ate this weekend. In fact, if you go to the Rocket meet in Kerville go to Alamo Springs and get the burger of your life. It's almost a whole cow...

    Finally saw one

Went to the big city after work today and saw the Roadster in both colors and got to hear one. They sound great and the dealer told me that D&D is in the process of buliding a set of shorter pipes for the Roadster. D&D is based in Ft. Worth. The pipes are big, but I could live with them. I still...

    Front wheel removal

Is the front wheel as easy to get off and back on as the manual reads? Any "look out for this or that"? I've had the rear wheel off a few times with no problems. Thanks.

    Rode the R1 today

Rode my friends R1 Yamaha today, lots of power and sounds awesome with the Two Brothers after market cans. Didn't get on it much since it's not broke in yet. Great way to spend Easter weekend.

    67 degrees...had to ride

Just got rid of the ugly rear plastic fender thanks to my best friends fabricating ablities, looks so much better. First pretty day we've had in a while, so I just had to take her for a spin and show her off.
