Rocket 3 Classic
Ok, I've finally managed to persuade my wife to go pillion on my Rocket 3 Classic (2006) and thankfully she liked it :)

But ... her bum hurts! She's going to try a few more times to see if its just a "I'll get used to it" but I suspect she would much appreciate a more comfy seat than the original Gel one on currently. I adore the looks of the Corbin but boy .... that's a lot of money (£1k ish) to spend on a bike that cost me £5.5k. If there's no other way I may pull the trigger anyway as I really want her to be comfy (and lets face it - the seats look cool!) but does anyone know of any alternative seats that are really good that are accessible from the UK ?

If it was me, I wouldn't waste my time with something like a Corbin seat, like you said, the cost is too prohibitive and by the time you have tested it to find out if it's fixed the problem you've already spent all your money.

I would most likely go down the route of having a bespoke seat rebuild on the existing seat (or on a second hand stock spare seat).

It depends where you live, but I would suggest you try to find a good artisan near to you, so you can visit several times during the process in order to make sure it's going the way you want it to go during the build.

Here is an example of what i'm talking about:

MotoStitch - Your Motorcycle Seat Customised

(disclaimer-- I've not used them but I have used similar in my area)

see if you could locate a stock Roadster Gel seat from a rocket X to borrow for a day ride from someone local.....I think you'll both be happy....

Have you seen those Holie seat pad’s advertised on FB, well the wife complained about the rear seat on my Classic as well. We saw them advertised and tried one for her, but we got the riders pad and once she’d tried it and approved it, I tried it. We’ve now got one each, we did around 120 miles Sunday and we are both pleasantly surprised. Recommended.

ps Don’t get the passenger one, too narrow for the passenger seat.

Ok - given the price - this is definitely worth a shot! I've also managed to pick up a spare passenger seat off eBay for £50 as well - so can use that for "customising" if I need to go further :)

Buy once cry once....

Comfort above all else.
I've had three
They look nice but a bit more than I want to pay to be honest - at least on this bike. I've only just started riding again. Hoping to retire at some point though - perhaps a bag of cash may be motorcycle bound at that point when something like this will be purchased lol! Thanks for info though.
