I would but a R3T from another dealer or complain to Triumph, they might be able to help somehow! Oh and mention FORUM etc Might Help?

The salesman today told me that he knew the bike didn't have ABS when he sold it to me because Triumph didn't sell the Rocket Touring 2012 in the states. I told him that the way he talked about the bike, I assumed it had ABS, especially when I told him I wouldn't buy a bike without ABS. When he told me they don't sell them in the states, I told him that according to cycle trader there are multiple dealers in the states that have them, including a dealer in VA with two. He called me back 20 minutes later offering me a 2012 ABS but it would cost me an extra 1400. I told him to just cancel the deal and give me my Tbird back. It's a shame because I love the Rocket Touring but enough is enough. Tomorrow I get the Tbird back. I certainly did enjoy my short time on this forum (as I sit here staring at my Rivco risers that I have to return tomorrow!).

See if the dealer will meet you half way???

Just because you dont own a Rocket doesnt mean you have to stop frequenting the forum!!!

Absolutely true. In case you missed it yesterday, the owner of this forum doesn't own a Rocket, hell he doesn't even own a motorcycle for the time being. And, last time I checked we have a Thunderbird section.

So, stick around and keep shopping.

Okay so enlighten me. Is this really an 011 or an 012? If it's an 011, push the dealer "Owner" or GM into a corner and tell him you want the 011 OTD for $15,000.00. Hell it's going on three model years old. Then you get the 011 Limited Edition with all the accessories and chrome stuff. The hell with ABS. Get the bike! Squeeze the dealer. He made the mistake. Grind him!

What he ^^^^ Said, or it might be time to take the advice of Big Marty

If they started to jack up and take me for an idiot I would start punching heads until they seen sense.

Or, make a big sign, something that says, "These guys are idiots, ask me how I know" and stand on the sidewalk in front of their place on Saturdays.

I think I will hang around this forum. It's been one of the most responsive forums I've ever been on. And I haven't given up on getting the bike I want. I leave for Sturgis in two days (flying out and renting a bike). When I get back I'll start my search for a 2012 Touring again.

Talked to the salesperson. They said bring the bike back. They told me that 2012 Rocket Tourings with ABS were never available in the states. I'm not sure that they are correct as I see several of them on Cycle Trader.

I was waiting to get through this thread before I made this comment, but if memory serves me there was a lot of discussion back then about the fact that Triumph specs said 2012s came with ABS, but the US bikes didn't seem to be available with them.

Triumph USA told me that the 2012s with ABS were shipped to Canada. No 2012 bikes were shipped to the US. But dealers in the US could make arrangements with Canadian dealers to ship the bikes down to the states. Not saying that's true or not, but that's what Triumph USA told me over the phone yesterday. I spoke with a dealer in VA today who said they sold their last two 2012s (with ABS) about three months ago.
