Based on this picture, my bike does not have ABS. I'll post what the dealer says to me. I can tell you that two weeks ago the dealer told me that the bike I was interested in might possibly go to another dealer but he could get me a new 2013. At that time I told him I was only interested in one with ABS. That was just one of numerous times that the topic came up. It will be an interesting day. Not a lot of sleep last night.

I would like to be a fly on the wall, good luck mate.

Talked to the salesperson. They said bring the bike back. They told me that 2012 Rocket Tourings with ABS were never available in the states. I'm not sure that they are correct as I see several of them on Cycle Trader.

I don't know about the Rocket, but Triumph does give you the option of ABS just like other manufacturers. The Tiger 1050 can be had with or without ABS. I bought the one with ABS. The Thunderbird also has the option of with or without ABS. Mine does not have it. I like ABS, but it's not a necessity. That said, having owned a R3T without ABS, if I bought another one, I'd want it as the rear locks up very easily on the R3T. I locked mine a few times.

THEY ARE FULL OF S***!

I put my hands on a black 012 R3T with ABS earlier in the year on the Doug Douglas showroom in San Bernardino, CA. I looked under the bike and found the ABS servo unit. Both front and rear wheels had sensor rings. This sounds like an "A" typical dealer. You can't trust the places!!

I hate to say this, but it sounds like quite a bit of incompetency going on at that dealer. Maybe you need to talk to the owner, I would bet good US money, (if I could find any), that he doesn't have a clue what is going on with his sales staff. If he does, I would find another dealer to patronize if there is one within a days drive or so.

I talked quite a while with the owner of the dealership where I picked mine up, they pissed me off several years ago with something stupid, which is why it took so long to get back onto a Triumph. I was fully prepared to drive over to Seattle (300 miles or so) to buy a new bike if I wasn't happy at the dealership here in town.

YMMV

The salesman today told me that he knew the bike didn't have ABS when he sold it to me because Triumph didn't sell the Rocket Touring 2012 in the states. I told him that the way he talked about the bike, I assumed it had ABS, especially when I told him I wouldn't buy a bike without ABS. When he told me they don't sell them in the states, I told him that according to cycle trader there are multiple dealers in the states that have them, including a dealer in VA with two. He called me back 20 minutes later offering me a 2012 ABS but it would cost me an extra 1400. I told him to just cancel the deal and give me my Tbird back. It's a shame because I love the Rocket Touring but enough is enough. Tomorrow I get the Tbird back. I certainly did enjoy my short time on this forum (as I sit here staring at my Rivco risers that I have to return tomorrow!).

Just because you dont own a Rocket doesnt mean you have to stop frequenting the forum!!! Plus if you stay........we will talk you into finding the one you want and buying it!!! :D Win Win all around..........BTW.................Buy the '12 R3T with ABS.......just a thought.......;)
