Wrong year

But if you thought you were getting a 12 then you thought you were getting ABS. The 2013 bike that you bought doesn't have it. Wouldn't that bother you?

Not really, maybe I am just too old to consider ABS a necessity. I understand the reason behind it, I just never considered it something I needed, once you get to know your bike, braking at the edge of control can be accomplished without a lot of difficulty. I have done a few panic type stops on mine for practice and like was said before, it just settles on the nose very nicely. YMMV

Okay, not a Rocket, but here's a pic of my Tiger with ABS. Notice the front disc brake (large disc). Now, see the smaller disc with all the slots on the outer edge of the disc. That indicates the bike has ABS. That's the disc that the ABS sensor monitors for lock up.
 
Thanks. Mine definitely doesn't have it. I'll be calling the dealer tomorrow to tell him he sold me a bike that he said had ABS and it doesn't. Let's see what happens. Its the fourth bike I've bought from them in a very short time. While I did sign the forms that listed the bike as a 2011, I don't think it matters whether or not I thought I was buying a 2012. They told me it had ABS and it doesn't.
 
Make the dealer give you what the ABS option would cost back. But,, with the R3 I don't think you have an option. You get one bike with ABS whether you want ABS or not. Other manufactures give YOU the buyer the option. Not Triumph.

But if you do have an 011, just know you got a WAY better deal. I looked at a black 012 on my dealers showroom floor with ABS and when I saw what accessories had been removed from the 012 vs the 011, I was WAY glad I bought an 011!!

Are the 013 Rockets out already? I must be behind the times. I guess they would be, as most manufactures change model years in July.

G'day mate from down under;

I can tell you if this happened to me I would be in there like a shot, and asked for the bike I was told I was buying in the first place. If they started to jack up and take me for an idiot I would start punching heads until they seen sense. I hate rip offs of any kind.

Totally agree. Rode a few VTX 1800s with linked brakes and thought they were brilliant. Particularly good if you do a bit of driving in amongst the riding.
 
Based on this picture, my bike does not have ABS. I'll post what the dealer says to me. I can tell you that two weeks ago the dealer told me that the bike I was interested in might possibly go to another dealer but he could get me a new 2013. At that time I told him I was only interested in one with ABS. That was just one of numerous times that the topic came up. It will be an interesting day. Not a lot of sleep last night.
