windsheild: can you see clearly now??

Checking into the windsheild options available for the rock. I look at the wind vest tinted 16 x 16 @ $420, and the Truimph summer screen @ $420 + $85 mounting kit. I dont like a huge windshield, but getting some of that wind of my body will be nice. So peel off 5 bills for which screen??? P.S. Is it just me or does 5 bills seem expensive for a windsheild???

What you have to keep in mind is that it is genuine plastic...

National Cycle, Memphis Shades, Slipstreamer and Maier all sell 'shields the same basic 16X16 size as the Wind Vest for as little as 80 bucks. Maier's is even tinted and quick disconnect for that price from JCW. I have one of these type on my Rocket and it works just fine, so keep an open mind and shop around.

I think if I was going barn door style I'd buy the Triumph mounting kit, the Clearview shield and invest 5 bucks in making my own front strap.

All of which is a long winded way of saying IMO you're not alone, I too think that's a lot of money for a windshield.

I have the summer shield. Keeps the wind off the body, but in the summer, let's all the bugs have a shot at your face. I wanted the full shield, but the dealer didn't have it when I bought the bike.

Silver Surfer has the full shield and does marathon rides at and above speed, so he can comment on it's effectiveness.
