Hi all,
Which helmet do you use? How experience do you have? I use now X-lite and have ordered Shoei GT-Air 2. Some say that it is great and silent, some that it is loud.
Do you have also experience with intercom Sena SRL2 or SRL- mesh? Or with borh of them?

Info: now are Shoei helmets in sale, in EU 20% down. Due to 22.06 they must stop producing existing helmets at end of this year. Dealer told me that new helmets will be a bit heavier, maybe 50grams, but also more expensive, also maybe 50€. So now we can buy GT Air 2 for 530€, next generation, GT Air (3?) will be for 700€.
Similalry to Neotec 2.

My preference is my Davida JET open face (see my avatar photo) for general riding around and for touring (away from long motorway treks).
For fast rides and long motorway journeys I use my Arai full face (can't remember which model off hand).
I have never used intercoms so I just use sign language.........and shout a lot.

I just bought an Icon Airflite Ultrabolt - just fancied a change from my Scorpion modular jobbie and I liked the Judge Dredd look

This f'ing thing tried to rip my ears off until I modified the lining with a dremel It fits a lot better now but this is such a narrow fit! Very few helmet manufacturers make my size (68) and I always have to modify them in some way or I get headaches due to pressure points. I also added a Sena bluetooth intercom

I have an Arai DT-X which was apparently discontinued immediately upon having bought it. Can't even get face shields for it - thankfully I have a spare.

I have a GT Air and a Neotec II. The Air is the quieter of the two. I have removed the chin guard on both. I think both are noisy without a windshield.

I have been riding for 35 years. I have owned expensive Shoei helmets and cheaper AGV, Arai, Bell, etc.
Until recently, for the last five years, I wore the most comfortable and quietest helmet I have ever owned. I bought it from Aldi for $70 Australian.
People questioned my choice, but carrying certification for all of the current helmet standards, the helmet was on the same playing field as an $800 Shoei and, IMO, outperformed them.
I now run an RJays Carbon Fibre helmet. It is the lightest helmet that I have ever worn. Snug fitting, but a little more wind noise than I have been used to with Aldi helmet.
Sena Cardo is the only comms system that I have used and it did what it advertised. The only issue I experienced was the breakdown of the foam speaker and microphone padding, over the years.

Schuberth Pro C3- supposedly one of the quietest helmets, but I still use ear plugs. Installed the Sena.
