You don't have to tell me Hanso.

I have a hobby farm in Corryong that is in the danger area from the Hollbrook fire if it gets away.

It's hard living in Adelaide and worrying about fires that are in Victoria. I have a mate looking after the place, but wish I was there in case the **** hits the fan.

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you Lofty
All I can Say to All My Aussie Mates I hope you are all Safe areas and Away from the Danger Areas, I woke up 5am this morning to what would have been the hottest wind from the NorthWest, it has been stiffeling here all day since and we are constantly looking out the window for tell tale signs of bush fires as we have like most of the South Coast been declared an extreme fire risk area, just hope some idiot doesnt throw a cigarete out the window as there is a lot of grass on road edges around due to the mild weather an rain we had last month, does any body know where in Tassie our Tasmianian members live and I hope none where effected by the fire over the las few days, fortunitly my father lives well away from where the fire was

Rang friends of mine that live just south of Kettering in Tasmania this morning ..no fires but lots of smoke. 100 people un-accountered for but searches of burnt out houses and cars have not uncovered any bodies so far.Told me over 100 homes have been destroyed. Same situation as everyone else , terrified some crazy prick will start another fire.

High risk is forcast for Q.L.D. tomorow just spent 2 hours raking leaves and sticks away from sheds and other gear and moved wheely bins away from shed wall. The only downside to living on a bush block.

my dad lives at Woodbrigde which is not far from Kettering he said the same, on another note the forcast cooler change is just starting to come in here, It has been a stinker got to 40 here today very unusal around here still 37 at moment, I'll bet Richard coped a lot more heat up there in Canberra

Take care Mate and keep us updated please

When I lived in the country I was a volunteer fire fighter and fought a few fires; they're terrifying and very, very unpleasant. Even the mopping up is stifling hot and the smell is pervasive and horrible. Worst part was being away fighting a fire and not being certain about what was going at home.

Take care all; tomorrow won't be much good either.

I was a full time fire fighter up here on the gold coast for seven years mainly structural fires and extracting people from motor vehicles ,when I worked in the stations on the out skirts of town we would get our fair share of scub fires .
