what's wrong?

I like to think when people ask a question, first they get the Hollywood Squares answer. Everybody has a laugh, then we get down to solving the problem.

I think if he went back and read it again, he'd find people were asking sensible questions to try to help...just in very sarcastic ways :D I think the real frustration was his own not knowing the answer to some of the simple questions being asked?

I think if the insurance wanted it looked at it should be taken to a shop that know what there doing I'm all for helping out but just to join a group to ask one question and your a wrench turner come on now what do you expect you should know the answer all ready

sitting at a light,

turned green..

hit the gas,

loud clunking sound

pulled the spark plugs and one cylinder was bent in. (don't know which one, i'm not the one that pulled it. i'll get that info)

My guess is no insurance involved. Somebody has a Rocket III, did some reading on forums and got the idea to remove throttle secondaries and accidentally dropped something into one of the throttle bores. Who knows what, maybe a screw perhaps a small tool bit. Rode for a short while, idling at a stop light, hit the throttle and whatever it was found it's way thru an intake valve. Thats what bent a spark plug. Either that or he installed new plugs and put the wrong ones in and one hit a piston.

There is no way the piston could hit the plug unless the plug is too long.
Valves? No way for them to hit the plug even if the timing chain jumps. They could hit the piston but not plugs. If valves are bent or broken there would be much more than a "tinging" noise.

The guy screwed his bike up and wanted help but would not admit what really happened.
